Russian PM: States without digital platforms risk becoming dependent

ALMATY, Feb 5 (PRIME) -- The pandemic of COVID-19 has made digital challenges more urgent and countries without own digital platforms vulnerable because of their dependence on foreign solutions, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Friday at the Almaty Digital Forum.

"The pandemic has not only accelerated digital transformation, but also exacerbated the associated strategic challenges and threats. Countries that have no own digital platforms are at risk of becoming dependent on foreign digital solutions information-, policy- and economy-wise," Mishustin said.

He also said that the Eurasian Economic Union countries must develop a joint digital platform keeping  national sovereignty.
